- Welcome to the Arsenal CD-Rom Browsing utility!
-
- We have written this utility specifically for use with Arsenal Computers'
- CD-Roms. We hope you find it intuitive and very useful! We appreciate
- your comments, so please drop us a line!
-
- When browsing directories with the browser, any files not found in the
- index will indicate 'Description could not be located.' in the description
- window.
-
- Whenever you highlight a directory name, the browser will display the
- description for that directory. This may slow things down a bit if you
- have single speed cdroms on a slower computer. You may toggle the display
- of this information on and off by pressing the F6 key.
-
- By default, the browser will not display special support files which are
- placed in each directory as an added convenience to you in support of your
- BBS. If you want these files to appear in the file list display, press F7
- to turn on this feature.
-
- If you find a file you would like to install (extract) onto your hard
- drive, highlight the filename and press ALT-E. This command will instruct
- the browser to extract the file. You will be prompted for a destination
- directory. If the necessary archive extraction utility is not in your
- DOS PATH= statement, then this operation may fail.
-
- To copy a highlighted file from the CDROM, press ALT-C. You will be
- prompted for a destionation directory. If the file already exists in this
- path, then it will be overwritten. If the directory you specified does not
- exist, it will be created automatically.
-
- You may view a text file by pressing ENTER when the filename is
- highlighted.
-
- The program supports viewing of archives created by PKZIP(tm) and
- ZIP2EXE(tm). Other file formats are not currently supported since most of
- our discs only contain .ZIP files.
-
- There are two methods for locating files on the CD-ROM. You can search the
- current directory by pressing ALT-S. After the first file is found, press
- CONTROL-L to continue the search. To search the entire disc, press F10.
- This type of search can be very time consuming on slower drives. After the
- first file is found, CONTROL-L will take you to the next file. Searching
- is by keywords or filenames. Wildcards are not supported. You can
- interrupt the global search by pressing ESC or F10.

- Disclaimer:
-
- The Arsenal Browser is provided as an added convenience, and no warranties
- are made or implied as to its suitability for any specific purpose.
-
- The Arsenal Browser makes use of the shareware PKUNZIP.EXE program for
- extracting files. If you would like to obtain a copy of the full
- shareware archive, call our BBS and you can download it on your first
- call. The PKUNZIP program is provided here as a convenience. You may
- use your own copy if you so desire, or simply do not exact the
- archives through the Arsenal Browser. Check the licencing agreement
- in the full archive of PKZIP to determine what the specific licencing
- agreement is for your installation.
